Capital Improvement Board Showcases Local Vendors, Local Cuisine At The Indiana Convention Center During NBA All-Star 2024 Weekend

February 14, 2024 (INDIANAPOLIS) – The Capital Improvement Board of Marion County (CIB) and its exclusive catering partner Sodexo Live! have added eleven local small businesses with minority and women owners to its menu of food vendors for this weekend’s NBA All-Star 2024 Crossover at the Indiana Convention Center.

“With all our contracts, from construction to point-of-sale services, we have diversity goals,” said CIB Executive Director Andy Mallon.  “With the eyes of the world on our City and our facilities, it’s a perfect time to put a spotlight on some of our local minority- and women-owned businesses who are doing awesome work, and it’s a great way to let other minority-owned businesses know that we want them to bid on work we have.”

The featured vendors and their foods and locations are:

  • Cotton Candy Fairy: gourmet cotton candy (pop-up shop outside Halls H, I and K)
  • Goody2Treats: gourmet cupcakes (pop-up shop outside Halls H, I and K)
  • Mambos Cheesesteak Grill: cheese steak, chicken sammies (pop up shop outside Hall K)
  • Market Square Popcorn: gourmet popcorn (pop-up shop outside Halls H, I and K)
  • My Sugar Pie: sugar cream pies (pop-up shop outside Halls H, I and K)
  • PB&J Factory: signature pb & j sammies (pop-up shop outside Hall I)
  • Pi Pizza: wood oven pizza and stuffed breadsticks (food truck plaza at Capitol and Georgia Streets)  NOTE:  Pi Pizza will not be on site on Saturday, February 17 and is TBD for Sunday, February 18.
  • Samano’s: taqueria-style tacos, nachos and quesadillas (food truck plaza at Capitol and Georgia Streets)
  • T Street Eatz: wings, slaw dogs, and banana pudding (concession stand inside Hall H)
  • Taste of Innova: international & traditional fusion-style wings, chicken tenders, fries and fried cauliflower (concession stand inside Hall K)
  • TomJohn’s: bbq sauce (Halls H and I and at Taste of Innova’s stand in Hall K)

About the Capital Improvement Board

The Capital Improvement Board (CIB) is a municipal corporation of Marion County created in 1965 by the Indiana General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Indiana Code 36-10-9, and authorized by the statute to finance, construct, equip, operate and maintain any capital facilities or improvements of general public benefit or welfare which promote and serve the commercial, industrial and cultural interests of Indiana and its citizens. The Board may assist, cooperate and fund governmental, public, and private agencies and groups for these purposes. The CIB operates and/or owns the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Victory Field, Virginia Avenue Parking Garage, and Hudnut Commons, all located in downtown Indianapolis.
